The goal of the Social Studies Department at KMIDS is to equip students with the global awareness, skills and knowledge needed to become proactive global citizens in their communities, countries and across the world in the 21st century. Social studies classes at KMIDS embrace these goals by focusing on 21st century skills, such as collaboration of ideas, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation and imagination.
Global citizenship requires students to think beyond themselves and their benefits, and to instead think about society as a whole. Through the study of social studies topics and through the use of activity-based learning, students will be able to apply their knowledge to show deeper understanding of global, regional and local issues, and be prepared to face the global challenges of the 21st Century as the next generation of global leaders!
