Air Quality Index (AQI) Policy
At KMIDS, the health and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. This policy ensures that all necessary precautions are taken to minimize exposure to unhealthy air quality levels, thereby maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.
Policy Guidelines:
- :AQI Monitoring:
- The Child Safety Team (or a delegated member of staff) will monitor AQI levels daily using reliable sources such as the AirVisual app, the Air Quality and Noise Management Bureau (Thailand), and official government air quality reports.
- The Child Safety Team (or a delegated member of staff) at school checks the information daily from both of the above two sites.
- Of the two data sets (AQI and PM 2.5), we will act on the reading which indicates the greatest level of risk as defined in the table below.
- The Child Safety Committee communicates to the Senior Leadership Team, who in turn will inform colleagues and students as appropriate, as well as our Marketing and Communications team for the management of relevant communications with our parent community.
- Typically, checks are made during the school day. If unhealthy levels are indicated, we will enact early morning monitoring.
- The following measures will be implemented based on AQI levels:
