In this activity students are acting as buyers and sellers of handshakes in a series of rounds. The first round starts as an unregulated free market in which students choose cards to determine their buyers maximum and sellers minimum. In the second round a substitute is introduced and in the third round a tax. After each round students must describe and graph what is happening on the activity sheet. In the end, students will have analyzed and experienced first hand how markets react under a variety of different circumstances.
