Robotics & coding at KMIDS with the Dobot Magician

The DOBOT Magician is a multifunctional desktop robotic arm to help students learn about the practical application of robotics. Installed with different end-tools, DOBOT Magician can realize interesting functions such as 3D printing, laser engraving, writing and drawing.
The Dobot Magician supports over 20 programming languages to help students learn how to write code to control industrial robots.

KMIDS plans on purchasing 5 Dobot Magician with the educational goal of helping students gain practical knowledge in programming industrial robots. Additionally, KMIDS will purchase a programming interface developed by KMITL Advanced Manufacturing Innovation. The interface developed by KMITL allows students to easily learn how to program the robot. The KMITL programming interface also has features to support the robot to work via the Internet (Internet of Things). Additionally, KMIDS will purchase an NVIDIA Jetson TX2 artificial intelligence card that will allow students to program the robot to identify shapes and colors.

Areas that aim to be used the Dobot Magician in KMIDS curriculum:

• Programming Robots
• Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
• Practical Use of Robotics in Industry
